Newbie, I want I want and question about commanders
Would like your folks help. I just rode my first 190 miles today on my new to me 2010 1700 nomad and Items I want to improve/personalize the ride. Would like to know what venders most of you use.
Risers Grips Windshield bags Fork lowers, as in wind deflectors Rear luggage rack Seat heat shields Tires Also it looks like a lot of you are running Michelin commander 11 tires. I can find the front, but not the rear 170/70B16 75h as stated in the owners manual? Also issue of the Ivan's re-flash. Does it really make the ride smoother? In another words, does it improve the engine vibration? I noticed going down a nice smooth road and pulling in the clutch the bike smooth as silk, engage vibration!!! I realize it's a twin, but again does Ivan's flash help engine vibes? Thanks in advance for any info Mark Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Welcome and Congratulations!
Greetings MarkPenn,
The rear Michelin tire for the Nomad/Vaq/Voyager is a 180/65/B16, a little wider but performs well. I like the PHAT RISERS from Scootworks. If interested, I would encourage you to purchase them from someone other than ScootWorks themselves. Grips, the Kuryakyn line-up is pretty nice. Have the KINETIC's now, have had Transformers and Flame on other rides. Sorry, have no input on the rest of your list. The *First* modification performed on my new Vaq, was the Ivan'izing reflash of the ECU. Best bang-for-the-buck mod \./ (Period) IMHO. Yes, these are V-Twins, yes they are going to Vibrate. Ivan's helps in so many areas, including "smoothness", I cannot say enough... (refer to sig: Yes, there are two Vaq's and yes they both have been Ivanized) Good luck with your mods and customization. Enjoy and ride safe! Smokier

Ivan before all else. learn from our mistakes. ;-)
Commanders have awesome life span. Best i have found and still good grip. Ivan's a must if you do intake and/or exhaust.

Welcome to the forum MarkPenn...
PHAT RISERS are great.. BEFORE, you think about trying to order them from Scootworks, do a search of the forum for the keyword "Scootworks " I believe it will be an eye opener.. Also check out the posting started today by linesider, about Scootworks. Instead, Check out... Chuckster customs https://chucksterscustoms.com/ Joe is a great guy to deal with. I'm sure you will be happy with the PHAT RISER he offers. I hope this information saves you from heading down a rabbit hole that you will regret. Cheers, David Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

Hello, New to the forum. Is the IVAN ECU mod a specific product or a method of flashing the ECU?
