CLUTCH/BRAKE Reservoir Caps

Has anyone installed aftermarket clutch/brake reservoir chrome caps? I just purchased some and after removing the stock caps I noticed a white plastic cover underneath. I had also removed those to get the new chrome covers on. When installing them I noticed a little bit of fluid seeping out of one of the mounting screws. I cleaned that off and checked the lever function but saw no more fluid there after. Just wondering if I should have left that white plastic cover on. I hope this isn't a problem down the road.

I would have left it in if it would fit.
