That's why I made my own bracket. When the backrest was attached to the trunk the dimension from the windshield to the backrest was exactly the same as before. To mount the trunk further forward would result in less rider/passenger room.

Ponch, it was to get a two tone paint job when we returned from Crescent City but that bike didn't come home with us.

I know, I was there. Bad day. I am glad you are ok though. That was a scare.

I think it would have looked much different painted to match the bike. Too bad it never came to pass...
