Received Scala Rider Team Set

Received the Scala Rider quick set last week, and it sure is nice. Works terrific, clear sound. It's nice to have when you need it, but I find that sometimes whether talking to the passenger, or on the cell, my mind is taken off of the mechanics of the ride. So, I still try keep talking to a minimum.

Is the rider and passenger both able to use take part in a phone coversation? ie: passenger makes a call and both rider and passenger are able to speak with the party dialed up?

Vin, I don't use the cell phone function on mine. Don't need to be distracted. But according to my directions the passenger cannot initiate a call. The driver can confrence in the passenger after a call is made but the driver is the only one who can make or recieve a call .

I don't think so Vin, according to my instructions. But like I said I don't use the cell while riding.
The way it reads is the driver has to conference in the passenger.
Under passenger functions it says nothing about initiating a call.

I will say they make riding a lot more enjoyable. It is nice to be able to talk to the passenger without turning my head.

The new Q-2 units may be different Vin, I know they have more features. If you are looking to have the passenger make the call maybe you should look into those units.

I don't really know what that means Bob, but I think, according to my directions , the only way a passenger can talk is if they are conferenced in on the call made by or received by the driver.

Keep in mind this the team set I am talking about. The new Q-2 has more features, including bike to bike capability.

On the team set, only the driver can receive and place a call; however, the driver can press the intercom button while in a call, and the passenger can enter in, it becomes a conference call.

One thing I thought of today is that you can switch bluetooth units and let the passenger have the driver unit. Let the passenger handle all of the cell calls, and be in control of the whole show. Takes a lot off the driver.

I looked on Cardo's web page and got some info. With the Q2, the passenger can also use a cell. The Q2 has an FM radio that both can use, and it offers bike to bike communication. I believe their website is cardowireless.com if you need more info.

Thats a damn good idea banker. If I ever get a bluetooth capable cell I will definatly do that. Thanks.

Yep. like TC said, it has more features. Just make sure the extra features are ones you can use. I understand the bike to bike feature is effective up to almost 1600 ft.
