Chuck...Our Friend

Amy and I are upset by the passing of our Texas friend. Chuck and I talked at length about his 2008 Nomad at the easern rally. Beezer hunted him down to introduce me to the man who had XM on his Zumo GPS. Chuck had a lot of great "toys" on his Nomad and he was proud to let me take pictures of it during a break. Chuck's enthusiasm about riding his Nomad was contagious and Chuck passed a little of it to each hand that he shook at Elkins. As are all of you, Amy and I are at a loss for words. So...here are some more pictures.

"Chuck, we will someday ride together again my friend."

Chuck (Txcwdancer) is the motorcycle on the left in front of Bill (Buckeye) as we were heading for the mountain.

Man, he sure cleaned his bike up good! Look at his windshield in the 2nd pic, I don't think mine looked that good when it was brand new! Don't you guys have any bugs over there?

We have tons of bugs. And, believe it or not, everybody was hand washing the Nomad's with hotel ice buckets that morning because it had rained the day prior. Chuck and his Nomad both cleaned up good. Do you guys remember Chuck showing us his soap dish fuse box that facilitated his power needs?

Here is the link for the camera mount Chuck used. He told me about the website but I had forgotten the name of it and sent him a PM to ask. I still have the PM. It sure means a whole lot more to me now.

RIP Chuck,

MAY THE SUN RISE IN FRONT OF ME

MAY THE RAIN FALL BEHIND ME, AND THE WIND FOLLOW ME

MAY THE ANGELS OF MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE ME

GUARD MY TRAVELS FOR THEY KNOW THE PERILS OF THE ROAD AHEAD OF ME

KEEP ME SAFE THROUGH THE ROUGH CITY STREETS ON MY WAY TO THE LAND OF SWIRLING TURNS AND ROLLING HILLS

LET THE COLORS OF FALL KEEP ME WARM

LET THE EAGLE GUIDE ME TO THE MOUNTAINTOPS

LET THE MOONS LIGHT GUIDE ME THROUGH THE NIGHT

MAY MY TYRES NOT FAIL ME NOR MY ENGINE GROW OLD

MAY MY BIKE DRAW LIFE FROM THE STREAMS I PASS

KEEP MY SEAT SOFT AND MY MIND SHARP

LET THE AIR OF SPRING BREATHE LIFE INTO MY SOUL

TO JOURNEY TO ANOTHER ADVENTURE BESIDES MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS
