Across and back Aus... again :)

Just thought I would throw a few stats from the trip at you guys.
First off thou, the Vaq performed bloody great !

December 17th to January 24th
12500 km's covered across endless flat roads and, I wouldnt say mountanous...lets say very tall hills and ranges.
520kg+ between myself, the bike and luggage.
Average fuel consumption was 18.5km/L, so pretty good in my book for the weight it was pushin. Best fuel stat was 22km/L... musta had a tail wind lol
Most days were in the 40-45 Celcius(104+ F) range...very toasty indeed. Coastal temps were around 30 Celcius.
Longest day was 12 hours in the saddle @44 celcius crossing into Western Aus...man that was a tough day lol

Tip for those wanting to bike travel around Aus... AVOID SUMMER !!!

The only minor thing to happen was the front brake pivot screw vibrated out causing havoc with the cruise control. Once retightened all good.

Best place/area...Mt kosciuszko/Alpine Ranges which are all part of the Great Dividing Range on the East coast... A freakin' bikers dream ...get urselves there !
Cheers, Pete.

This is going to sound like " I'm never going to drink again", but I'm never going to tour in summer again ! haha. I knew it was going to be hot but didn't expect record high temps
