NEW ENGLAND DAY TRIP TO THE OCEAN

My wife an I got some rare and needed time together this past Saturday. I know there aren't many New Englanders ( yet) on this web, but took a very scenic day trip.

Left home and headed south on rt# 1A to Massachusetts. Turn off onto #133 towards Gloucester, Ma. Turned onto # 127 and that took us towards Rockport and Cape Ann. nice curvy road and beautiful views. Great shopping , if that's your thing. Took us about 5 hours total.
Here's a link.

Sounds cool flightdoc. I might be coming up your way to visit later on. My daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons are moving to Boston from Dallas. I think they bought a home in Sudbury.

At any rate, I'm sure I'll be flying up there in the near future.

Here's another one. Hop on 3A to Plymouth, where the rock is. Lots of shopping and site seeing. Get back on 3A and head toward the Cape Cod canal. Nice place to rest and watch the boats. From here you have options. You can hop over the bridge and get on 6A. It can be slow going, but a nice ride. When you get to Brewster we stop at Coby's for lunch. Warning! It closes after Labor Day. If you don't want to go that route, from the canal stay on 6 toward Bourne. Continue on 6 thru the town of Wareham. Pick up Rt.105. This is a nice country road. Continue on 105 into Lakeville. From there you can pick up rt 24,495, which ever is easier to get you back. One thing to keep in mind, Cape traffic, especially on weekends can be tough.
This is a nice trip to do in the Fall. It is Cranberry harvest season and this cranberry country.

thanks Johnr. It appears we are the only NE folks in the group. At least for now. Maybe one day we could meet for lunch.
