Chrome guards over front of saddlebags on voyager

I'm having a brain fart. What is the correct name for the chrome guards that go on the top front of the saddlebag covers, in this instance, on a Voyager.
i don't want the full length ones, just something so that when I get my short ass off the bike, the toes of my boot doesn't mark the top of the saddlebag lid.
A reasonable priced place that sells them if you know of any would be appreciated also.............Mike

If your lack of height isn't allowing your boots to clear the top of the saddle bag will adding an inch of chrome tubing keep your boots from getting hung up on the rack?

I am 5'-9" so I not a real short ass, almost but not quite LOL.
Having a bad hip and knee both on the left side makes it awkward, for lack of a better word, to get my right leg off without my toe hitting the top front of the bag on occasion. Getting on is no problem at all.
I'm thinking the extra inch won't cause my boots to hang up but will prevent me from marring the paint.
I was going to put the clear vinyl on the front of the bag, similar to what you see on leading surfaces of fenders to prevent rock chips, but I don't like the look of it. Besides....a bit more chrome won't hurt :-).

Have you tried mounting-dismounting from the high side? It may be easier depending on your physical abilities.

Yup did once and once only, ever heard the expression 'Dog riding a football' comes to mind LOL.

Yea I get it. I always get off in the high side now and trying to get off on the low side feels like the same football situation for me.

Thanks but not my thing. I like the chrome with still being able to see the color thru. I would use something like that if the lids were damaged but they're not....yet :-).....Mike

Got the covers, (not the fuzzy ones :-) ) look good. Scary drilling holes in a perfectly good saddlebag cover but 'ya gotta do what 'ya gotta do............Mike

My mom and dad had horses when I was a kid and I was taught you always mount and dismount horses from the left side.

So left foot in the left stirrup and swing your right leg high over the saddle.

Being 5'8", I was having a problem clearing my Corbin back rest. Being 61 years old isn't helping also.

I figured out if I place my left foot on my left floorboard, like I would in a saddle, I would clear everything. It gives me a enough height to clear my backrest and saddle bags.

I have had my skoot fully loaded and it is as stable as when empty.

Might work for some of you, it works for me.
