Ivan ECU Flash w/FP 4” True Duals

So I got Ivanized and added Freedom Performance 4” True Duals racing exhaust system to my 2016 Vaquero. It’s too loud, so I’m probably going to add quiet baffles. Will this affect the performance of the flash?

What has me concerned right now is the strong smell of gas when I’m on the throttle. I’ve never owned a bike and had this happen after swapping out the stock exhaust. Anyone else experience this? Also seems like the bike is drinking gas now

Starting to wonder if I should have just left it stock

Did you tell Ivan you were going to use this exhaust when you got the flash

R U sure its the reflash?

Soulshine,

You are the FIRST person to have *any* second thoughts posted about the FLASH.
Do you have a fuel leak/seep? between the "strong smell of gas" comment and the "bike is drinking gas now", seems like there might be something else to look for?

It seems across the board that IVANized bikes are reporting better MPGs, even with throttle wrist flare-ups.

Besides Ivanizing and the FP pipes, what other adjustments have been made to your '16?

Ride safe,
Smokier

I think you originally stated you took it to a dealer who sent the ECU to someone other than Ivan ?

Are you sure you eventually got Ivans flash ? Pull the ECU and take a look if there is an Ivans sticker on it. I think he also etches numbers on it ?

The higher gas mileage might be you riding the bike differently, winding it out more.

If the flash was one by Ivan, there will be a white label with IVAN on it. The current flash number will be etched as well..... FUO59C4B

Any chance it had a Power Commander on it and forgot to disconnect it. Or maybe they didn't disconnect the O2 Sensor.

This is why I do things myself. All the time you have correcting their mistake is longer than what it takes to do the work. Pull the ECU and see if its stenciled by Ivan and a sticker attached. Also pull the right cover and make sure as stated they unplugged the O2. The instructions for Ivans ECU install are posted here. I would do that myself too. All of that will take you 20 minutes max.

Like I said once before, as far as I know there is only one person who is able to communicate with the stock ECU and make changes and that is Ivan.
As has been stated you need to take a look at your ECU and see if it has been reprogrammed by Ivan.

Redjay and others:

Maybe I wasn’t clear before but Ivan did my flash and my bike is running much better than it was before. I’m not saying anything bad against Ivan, I wanted his flash for my ECU and I eventually got it and I’m very happy about it. There’s no one out there that can flash a Vaquero ECU and make it work right, not like Ivan. Just look at the posts here, it’s obvious.

Since my last post I talked to my Vaquero guru who told me that an occasional whiff of gas is normal for a bike like mine with a new exhaust. I only mentioned that because I got a new system put in, it has nothing to do with the ECU flash.

I spoke to the dealership over the weekend and the exhaust tips are on order.

Based on your dealings you may want to verify the O2 is disconnected.
