Grin replacement motor on the way!

happy new year fellow riders!
just couldnt contain my excitement anymore! lol

just picked up a 1600 motor from a meanstreak to swap into my 1600 nomad.
appears to be a direct swap.
the current motor has a bad 2nd gear, and will need a clutch as well. the price of parts and the lack of desire to do the labor steered me to find a decent used motor.

the new (to me) motor has 18k miles, but the best part.....
it has a thunder mfg big bore kit, along with cams, porting, modded throttle body, and a power commander III. it also has a barnett clutch setup with heavy duty springs. the bike when built was putting out 100 hp with 106 ft lbs of torque on the dyno.

this thing should be a beast! lol
a bit of a sleeper being in a bagger, but should be a really fun bike.
i'll be posting up pics once the motor is received and making progress!

Before you unleash that 1600 big bore on your bike, make sure your driveshaft is up to it, check your ujoints, rear wheel bearings, and be doubly sure that everything is tight in your final drive.
I would doublecheck your angle drive between your gearbox and driveshaft, just to be sure.
Any slack, roughness in the bearings, its the perfect time to freshen it up....
With my 1600 Thunder in my bike....if I take off aggessively in 1st, get to about 30, clutch it up while reving just before 5000rpm, and get into the clutch, folks are amazed a dresser can wheelie! Hahaha....but burnouts and wheelies are very hard on your final drive system....do it with care.
If you let the front end come up too high and slam the front end down, you can blow your front fork seals....
All the extra power is nice out on the open road....
