Looks good Sounds Good. That is one deserted road. Looks like a good place to see what your top speed is.

I'm sure you've been on this road Scott. The run into Bartlett? Only one way in and one way out. Mostly motorcycles and sports cars in the winter with the occasional fishing boat behind a pickup. Unfortunately, it can be pretty heavily patrolled by Maricopa County Sheriffs too.

Welcome to Arizona. That's what a lot of the roads look like around here.

Yeah, I've ridden that road a few times. On the weekends in warm weather the road is lousy with MCSO vehicles looking for drunks coming off the lake. Same thing over here by Canyon and Saguaro lakes.

The GoPro did a great job. Nice looking road to do some riding and clear the mind.

I think those cameras do a great job. Don't think I would want to break down on those roads though.

Nice video I saw the Go camera for the first time a few weeks ago at the sporting goods store. Really impressed with the quality of video.

Thats good about the law enforcement on the highway, as it protects us from dangerous drivers.

A lot of us have picked up additional insurance coverage for roadside help very inexpensive.

Thanks Again for the Video =r=

Thank you.

For those interested in these little cameras, I found out something this weekend. I stuck the thing on my back fender and shot a video of my girlfriend riding. I had changed the quality setting from 4 (default) to 5 (the best supposedly) as an experiment. The video was real choppy and you would be viewing the bike and a reference point (say a road sign) then the sign would jump about 100' back in the video. This would happen every couple seconds so not very enjoyable to watch and certainly not "real time". Guess I found out why the out of box default setting of 4 is what it is.

The video on this thread was on a 4 setting. Haven't played with the lesser settings as yet. I have a feeling 4 is going to be as good as it gets.

Could be that the newer version camera addressed and repaired this.

Nice shots, nice tunes. Bartlett was our first ride when we moved down. Loafer's right about the break downs, most of that road has no cell service. We kept the guy on the Harley mid-pack just in case. Fun time with no problems.

danimal here it what it says in the instructions about r5 setting:
When vehicle or gear mounted, best choice for highest in-car filming. 25% narrower field of view (127º) compared to 170º view of other resolutions.

That much field of view change could be part of the problem. I'm still running tests on which settings I like and what situations they work best in. I know for sure I don't like handle bar mounted, way to much vibration. But helmet mounting so far is the best for me. I'm going to use the Winter time to do some video from my car, I will be able to change settings easier that way.

Thanks. I found that too after viewing my disappointing video on the 5 setting. I was hoping that it would just tighten the shot up some. Wasn't counting on the frame jump and general herky jerky effect.

My girlfriend is new to riding this year and doesn't like to ride too close. At a 6 bike length separation and the camera on a 4 setting, she's just a dot. Don't want her to feel like she has to ride closer, thus the experiment with the 5 setting. She's doing much better and gaining confidence with every ride so I'm sure eventually, she'll tighten up the spacing some.

It actually makes for a more interesting video if you're in a stop and go situation where you get different angles on the bike and can watch a rider turning, stopping etc., Just blasting down a country road for 6 minutes can be a little dull and monotonous for a disjointed viewer.

I just did some editing on that video (r5 setting). Paired it down to less than two minutes and oddly enough in the process some of the frame jump and herky jerk went away. It actually doesn't look too bad now. Still think I'll stick with the r4 setting though.
