Are the seat brackets on a stock 02 FI nomad bolted on.
I have a mustang that has the brackets riveted on and I'm replacing it with a corbin solo I don't have a stock seat and the part phish at bandit doesn't show the bracket clearly nor is it listed as a part
thanks

stock seat brackets

I have a 2000 (carbed) and I just replaced my stock seat with a Corbin solo, the brackets on my stock seat are just bolted on. Was able to remove and use on the Corbin.

That's what I had a feeling was the case, I can't buy just the brackets going to have to buy a stock seat to get them maybe I can make a set

I can give you dimensions for the seat mounting brackets if you would like? Also, Ultimate seats supplies brackets with their seats so maybe they would sell a set of brackets. Might be worth a try at least.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I was outside mowing.

I will get the dims and post them here tomorrow. Dims will be the overall formed part without a bend radius setback calculation.

stock seat brackets

I bought a used corbin solo seat late last fall and it came with the brackets already on it. Not sure if that is how it came from the factory or not.

That will be fine I'll bend it then drill it the ones on the mustang are slotted where they mount to the frame it's more to keep the seat from moving around it doesn't support any weight

stock seat brackets

The stock seat mounting hardware for the rear is bolted to the bike. The front brackets are bolted to the seat. The Mustang as you say are riveted on.
If you need a stock passenger seat bracket for your nomad and don't have one check e-bay for one. Or check out the wrecker in Ohio? I forget the name now, but they sell a lot of items from bikes and the same one for the Classic FI from the same 01-04 era is the same as the nomad bracket. You should be able to find the part number on Ron Ayers. Also I'd post a note on the Vulcan Forum (and here) in the Marketplace to see if anyone has one they are willing to give up.
Hope that helps?

Scott

I just found another bracket from another seat I had. I had pulled the cover off it and started to reshape the foam. I also made my own bracket like the one from Utopia for under the rear seat. I have that whole setup (less the covers in one piece) as I abandoned it due to the fact I don't sew and to have the cover remade with the brown leather and doe skin I have would be costly for me at that time. Since then I took the stock seat off in favour of a Mustang seat and Grasshopper backrest.
So I have a rear (pillion) bracket that bolts to the fender to use with the stock Nomad seat. So let me know if you want it. I still have my stock untouched seat from my bike and this other one that is now apart.
I can try to post a few pics in the coming days. Just found it looking for some material to make a cushion for the Grasshopper bar (pics of that too for anyone who has one and the bar hits them in the small of there back) I have the solution (I think) a long ride will determine that.

Nothing beats finding that perfect seat
I need the two brackets that are bolted to the bottom of the drivers seat that hold seat to the frame.
