Hope to be seen!

I just finished adding some streetglo reflective tape to the back of the Nomad. I had a Nomad reflective sticker made and they did a nice job with it. This pix no flash:

Some black reflective tape on the bag rails along the back, and some triangles fitting inside the cutouts behind the passenger backrest (not my idea).

The red on the backrest is the only obvious tape in the daylight but the flash does a pretty good job in the pictures of lighting the back of the bike up. Still looking for more places to put it where it isn't obvious.

I do like their product! Hope it lets even one person see me a little better!

really like the idea of more "discreet" reflectors on the back of the bike. Gotta love that Nomad sticker!

Mark, The triangles are the cutouts on the stock 1600 backrest. You can remove the back rest cushion and just put a large piece of red tape on the back of it and reinstalled that is what shows through the cutouts, I did the same thing after someone here suggested it several months back, not sure if Jack saw that for figured it out himself. The triangles are gone on the 1700 btw.

Nice job Jack.

Markus, Ells is right, it is behind the cutouts already there. I can't take credit for the idea, if memory serves me right it was a post here or another forum by Chuck Burt that gave me the idea. I saw the black tape that reflects white and could find more places for it. I like that is is not obvious as you can see in the top picture.

While looking for reflective tape I saw they could make practically anything you wanted, and it is made from what looks like a fabric material different from the reflective tape. It looks like it will stay there for a long while

Thanks!

Yes, but I was wrong about the cut-out triangles being gone on the 1700. It's the Vulcan insignia that's gone, at least on the one I saw/rode. Why would they have done that?

Great idea!!! It is simple, cheap, and very effective. Looks like I have a project for this week. Thanks for the idea. Where did you have the Nomad sticker made? What store sold the street glow brand reflective tape? I have seen that brand before, but can't remember where. Thanks again. Ride Safe!!!

Looks fantastic Jack. I have some of the yellow temporary highway striping tape that I use for marking trails to deer stands. That stuff has great reflective quality. I will have to try some of it behind the cutouts. Oh, when or do you plan on performing baffelectomy surgery???

badnomad08: All of the tape and sticker from one place online at http://www.streetglo.net/

Make the Nomad sticker like you want it under their promote your business decals, design your own online, truck lettering. The other reflective tape is on their main page and I am impressed with the black. You would have to look REAL close to see it if you didn't know it was there.

terrebonne: no plans on the baffelectomy. Unless it was a make-it-go-much-faster mod I might consider it but not willing to mess with it for sound alone. Still have thoughts of lack of back pressure possibly creating problems from the old drag racing days that haunt me . Never understood why totally, just something I was told at an impressionable age so long ago by a mechanic I had a whole lot of respect for!
