Just signed up here, after skulking around this excellent website for a week or so. Thanks for all the hard work you've done to create such a terrific place!

I began riding a little over 50 years ago (I'm 64) and just sold the Intruder I've been riding for 5 1/2 years. Ordered a Nomad yesterday, after searching for that perfect Interstate Eater for the few years my wife and I have left to ride, before we have to hang it up. I know that my skills and strength aren't what they were even ten years ago, so I'm hoping I haven't bitten off more bike than I can handle with this one, as it's almost 300 pounds heavier than my last bike. Planning to add a TourPack and all the usual other necessary stuff.Probably take delivery in a week.

Very much looking forward to getting to know some of you, and learning from your experiences with your Nomads.

welcome smokey. great bike. If you're concerned about the weight issue, don't add the tour pak and other items right away. Practice your skills solo first. Maybe even take the intermediate msf course. It's only one day and will increase your skill level and confidence. Then add the other items, including your wife. Just a suggestion.

Welcome Smokey

I bet you cant wait for the day you collect that Nomad
I'm sure you will be just fine with the Nomad, my Nomad is my first bike in something like 18 years and i to was unsure wether the Nomad was to big for my first bike, but i was very surprised when i first rode it how easy i found it.

Hey Smokey, welcome to the group from Georgia! Don't worry about the Nomad being too much, I'm 64 too and bought my '06 Nomad in July of '06 after not having a bike since 1972. No problems so far in riding it or getting used to it.

I'm betting you will love the Nomad!

So, drag up a chair and enjoy the site!
