Hot wire for Brake light

I purchased a led light that I am going to mount on the rear of my bike that will come on when the brakes are applied. What wire would I need to tap ino to get power to the light. By the way my bike is a 2007 Nomad

When I get home from work tonight I'll check. I've got it written down but I can't remember the color. Anyway, if no one has been able to tell you before then, I'll let you know.

according to the schematic the red wire but I would use a electrical tester for each since your not wiring the extra light to stay on all the time but just when you hit the breaks according to your question.

According to my service manual which covers 2005 -2008 Nomads the red wire feeds the tail light and the license plate light. The blue wire feeds the brake light. I traced the blue wire in the wiring diagram all the way to the front brake switch and I also checked on my bike. I have the brake wire for my LED connected to the blue wire and the running light connected to the red wire.

If you have access to a manual, the diagram is on page 16-19.

bob your correct! I blew up the view on the manual (lousy eyes) and the top wire is the BL(blue) for the brake light wire and the red is shared with the license plate and running light chapter 16-19

No problem BD. I had to use a magnifying glass to read the diagram! They print these things for teenage eyes!! ::)

How hard are these backup modules to install that flash your tail-light 3-4 times fast and then on steady for 3-4 sec then repeat??? :-)

Doc, If you're handy with a soldering iron and follow the instructions, it's not too difficult. Problems arise when the instructions are flat out wrong or incomprehesible.
