Question turn signal selector

Afternoon all: Has anyone had problems with the turn signal button on the Vaquero. Mine started acting up last fall now this year when pushing lever on the handlebar switch to turn right it only works about once every 5 or 6 tries. Any ideas? Turning left is problem free

i haven't been into my voyager turn signal button yet, so i don't know if it (or the vaq) is a sealed unit or not. if they are not sealed units, it may only need to be cleaned. like starter buttons, many (most?) are slide and ball switches. take apart, clean, coat w/ a little dielectric grease, reassemble. prob have to push a few times to clear the grease off the contact points. you might get by w/o the grease if you never ride in rain, but it protects and lubes the switch.

Been checking the manual . Can't find any pics or info. on splitting the turn signal box. Anyone who has done this any tips or things to look out for. Don't want to have things going everywhere. Thanks in advance.

I had some trouble like that some years ago. A few shots of "contact cleaner" took care of the problem. Did not have to take anything apart. Do a Google search. Many suppliers available.

Thanks Ozymandias for the tip. I will probably try this first and if all else fails undue the two screws and hope for the best. Thanks for the reply.

Your local hardware store or auto supply store should have contact cleaner. Our local NAPA store has it.

Thanks to Ozymandias and Ponitail and Sabre-T . Tried the contact cleaner and it worked very well and is working like new again. My extended warranty goes to 2020 so if it happens again I will take it into the dealer.

I just split mine and sprayed with contact cleaner. Then I dabbed a bit of dielectric grease on the moving parts. Smooth as glass now.

To Tortuga. Thanks for the reply. No moving parts popping out to worry about? I had sprayed threw the lever and it worked fine, but still was interested in what was under the control. Since it is on warranty for another year I didn't want to mess with it.
