Both the EJK and the PCV can be tuned the "old school way". Ride the skoot to assess the performance, pull over and make adjustments. The EJK is self contained, the PCV requires bringing a laptop.

If you are a "do it urselfer" both units will allow you to achieve good results, the PCV has a higher degree of adjustability and can achieve more precise results but it'll take a bit more time.

In the end and after the desired results are achieved you can, with the PCV, start to develop an ignition map which will further enhance performance.

How much time you want to spend depends on each individual, but contrary to what Dobeck says, dyno tuning IS NOT a requirement to map a PCV if you self tune the old school way.
