Ever have one of those days

Talk about a crappy day. Found out this afternoon that my aunt (mom's sister) passed away. Well mom and dad are in Jamaica where my nephew is getting married this week. Didn't have the exact information on where they were staying at but at least the wedding reception invitation had the city. Three hours of hunting and calling I finally found their resort. I know that they aren't here for this but at least they will be home for the funeral.

Pass the bottle please.

Joel....bummer for sure. Kind of reminds me of the time I was in Alaska writing a fishing article, while my Dad and his brother were visiting family in Norway. I got a call at the fishing lodge and was informed they had been in an auto accident. I got another call two days later and learned that my Uncle had passed away. That was a tough day too. My heart goes out to you and your family as you find your way through this.

Yep, it's turning into a lousy week for me.

1. Wife gets call from Dr.'s office yesterday, (she had blood drawn last Thursday) telling her to get to the ER for a blood transfusion because her hemoglobin count is way low. They admit her to the hospital, where she still is tonight. Footnote: She's going to be okay, she has a major iron deficiency and should be home tomorrow.

2. Oldest son and wife had to go to Sacramento for a funeral for his wife's uncle. Ask us to take care of their 2 dogs. After I left the hospital last night, I had to go pick their dogs up and bring them to my house. We have 2 dogs, so that's 4 dogs in the house right now. I got 2 hours of sleep last night. They won't be home until next Tuesday. Wife agreed to watch their dogs - not me. I didn't even know about it until Monday night.

3. Youngest son calls me at 8:30 tonight, says his girlfriend is kicking him out and would I come move his stuff RIGHT NOW? I say "mom's in the hospital, house full of dogs, I got 2 hours of sleep, and I have to work tomorrow. Wait until weekend and I'll rent a Uhaul."

When it rains, it pours. I need a new umbrella!

Sorry to hear the news Joel and Scott. I know what you mean. I just found out this morning from my daughter on Facebook that she has a melonoma on her back. She had a couple of moles taken off and one was melonoma. Need your thoughts and prayers for my daughter. Thoughts and prayer coming your way.

Sometimes life is like living under a toilet that someone keeps flushing.... hang in there, it usually cycles back to the good after a run of bad.
