I went to Home Depot for plumbing parts tonight and the guy who helped me rides a Harley. He was eager to run outside to look the Nomad over. Should have heard him cooing over the bike. Said that he wished he had bought a Japanese bike. He likes his Harley but would like to have a great bike and some money left over.

Sure made me feel good.

That is always nice to hear....

Not all H-D riders are bad :). Most that I personally know will give me a hard time about the Nomad, but the will also admit it is a very nice bike (just not in front of other H-D riders).

To me, those are the sweetest compliments. Yesterday an old lady getting out of her car at ACE hardware told me "nice bike". I figure she was probably afraid I was going to swipe her purse or something
The average person doesn't know a Nomad from a Ninja, so although I appreciate the comments, they always mean more when they come from a fellow biker.

i was doing a quote for an 85 year old lady last week and she spent more time carrying on over the nomad than explaining how she wanted the job done. they seem to attract attention from all ages.

The "stuck up" HD people have to justify why they paid too much! But, most are good people who are friendly to all riders of all makes.

I get alot of nice compliments from people about my bike, but I do agree the best ones are from other bikers.

I was talking to a guy about his Streetglide the other day when he asked what I rode. When I said a Nomad his first response was what a nice ride they were and he wished he still had his Vulcan.

When I first picked up my Nomad I rode it the long way home, at my first break I stopped at a boat launch and this guy was there playing with his dog. He came over right away and asked what kind of bike it was. He was shocked to hear it was a Kawasaki. He was an ex-harley rider that hadn't ridin in 25+ years and couldn't stop talking about how nice the Nomad looked and how big it was. I sure was proud and happy to tell him all about it. :)

Nomads rock.

I've had a number of compliments from "older women" on my Nomad and the 1500 Classic when had it. The compliments have all come with smiles. I think that in their younger days, either their husbands or boy friends rode motorcycles.

Heck...I pulled up in front of the auto parts store last week and when I walked in, the very cute "young woman" who worked there was drooling all over and telling me what a nice bike I had. I said "Thanks"...and told her "it would even look better with her on the back"... :-*.

I quickly came to regret my flirtatious comment, because she instantly reached for paper and pen to write down what I could only assume would have been her phone number . I quickly had to suggest I was quite sure however, that my wife would not understand.... ! Her disappointment was obvious.... :-[.

That kinda makes me feel good, too. Everyone I tell about my new motorcycle says "Did you get a Harley?", and I always say "no, I got what I wanted and not what everybody else has or wants". But everyone that comes up to me and looks over my bike can't take their eyes off her.
