My New Ride
I'm trying to upload a pic of my new ride but not sure if it's happening.
Very weird process. In any even, a 2009 Triumph Rocket 3 Touring with 6200 miles on it. I put it on the Nomad 1600 forum because that's what I presently ride.

Nice looking bike. I'm sure you will have many miles of enjoyment on it.

Nice looking bike. Hows the drivers triangle, compared to the 1600 Nomad?

This is my second Rocket 3, the first being an 07 Classic Tourer that I gave that to mo son a few year ago. The Nomad was it's replacement.
It has shim over bucket, or under bucket valves. I forget which. They require adjustment at the 10k service (first after 500 mile oil change) and then at the 30k service. The Touring is a completely different bike than my 07 and now the Roadster; both which had a 240 rear tire. It has more "standard" size tires. It is also de-tuned a bit from the Roadster model, with less power and torque but still sufficient to bring a smile. Also, all of that can be changed with an available tune. I have the TuneECU software to do it. It lifts the secondaries and increases torque and horsepower significantly. An aftermarket exhaust and removal of the cat makes it a real monster. Exhausts for it are in the $800-1200 range, unlike the Cobra true duals I put on my Nomad for under $500 delivered to my door. Troy, I'd say that the rider triangle (and I had to look that up) is roughly the same as the Nomad, that is, extremely comfortable. The original owner put almost 5K in upgrades. Lots of chrome bits, Garmin Zumo GPS, cruise control, auxiliary lighting, leather Rocket tour seat with removable backrest, a second complete tall windscreen assembly, with hardware, and more than I can remember. The original owner is a friend who is terminal. At the beginning of last summer I told him I'd help him sell it by showing it to potential buyers but he's so sick he never listed it. About a month ago he called and offered it to me for a stupidly low price. I told him I'd think about it for a couple of weeks because it is such a beast and that he could get more for it if he listed it but he wanted me to have it. I decided to go ahead and now own it. He called after I made the decision and told me how grateful he was that I bought it. I had Jim on speaker with my wife listening and she got very teary when she heard that. I think I'll upgrade my Nomad over the winter with the Dobek controller that is sitting on my work bench and the modified intake. I'll then either ride or ship it to my daughter's new home north of Colorado Springs. She is in the Air Force and will be stationed at the Academy hospital. He husband, a CWO5 Apache gun ship pilot will be at Ft Carson. I considered selling the Nomad but sitting at my desk in the shop and looking at that gleaming beauty have decided to keep it. I can fly directly into either Denver or CO Springs and spend a week or two riding there, Utah, AZ and NM. Pushing 70 I never thought I'd have another Rocket but here I are. :)

Thanks all. Every time I pass it in my garage I think "What have I done?. Oh concerning heat on the right leg....On a very hot day sitting at a stoplight I can feel it a bit but riding down the road, it's no hotter than was my Harley Electra Glide.
