Rear CT at 15.5K

Here's a picture of the car tire after 15,500 miles. I've kept the pressure around 28 psi for most of the miles. It seems to be wearing pretty evenly; a little more in the center than the edges. It looks like I will get several more thousands out of it before I need to replace (at least 3x life of motorcycle tire). I'm very pleased with the way this has worked out.

Looks good Pablo!! I have 7200 on my truck tire and I swear I can't measure any tread wear yet?!! It's wearing nice and even too. I guess since my truck tire has a slight natural roundness like a MT that that is helping with wear and handling. I run 26lbs..

I've got about 16K miles on my Dunlops. There is some slight where in the middle, but I easily expect another 16K miles.

Utah, don't know how you get the mileage out of the Dunlop SP.

We are running the same tire and mines about shot at 15K.
Still well worth the money with all the positives of a car tire, but disappointed in the mileage.

Utah, what are you running on the front? CT on the rear? Just curious as you said Dunlops. Was wondering if you run a Dunlop CT on rear and Dunlop MT on front. BD I also am curious about your rear tire.

I'm running a Dunlop SP5000 car tire on the rear. I run it with about 33PSI.

I'm running a metzeler 880 mc tire on front.

Not too sure why I'm getting so much mileage out of my tire. I'm a light weight at only 155lbs. Maybe that make a little difference. 95% of my miles are on the highway. I like the tire so much that when I sold my last Nomad, I pulled the ct off and put a worn down mc tire on it and have put the dunlop onto my new bike.

The type of roads we ride has to have a bearing on the difference in mileage. I spend 80+% of my time on curvy mountain roads. Very little on 4 lane roads, almost none on interstate hwys.

The weight difference between us is slight with me at 145lbs.

I also was running 33-34 lbs but lower to 27-28 after SP started wearing more in the center. I still have plenty of tread on the outside.
If I had lower pressure sooner, tire would have lasted longer. :'(

Just to be devils advocate, I have an 07 with 24,800 miles on it. I replaced my original Bridgestone rear tire at 13,000 before it was to the wear bars because I was leaving on a 4,000 mile trip and didn't want to change tires along the way. I put a OEM stone on the rear as replacement. I replaced my original front stone at 22,000 before it was worn out cause I was leaving for a couple thousand mile trip in the mountains (with DkDixie and VulcanE who showed me that CT's do work fine in the mountains) and there was alot of rain predicted (understatement!). I put another OEM stone on the front. My replacement rear tire has almost 12,000 on it it is more than half worn out and is showing a little squaring in the center of the tread. I am going to replace it in Feb when it will have about 15,000 on it.
I was planning a Vred..CT on rear but a month back I got a Elite 3 160/80/16 for less than $100 at a bankrupt dealer sale. People say they get double the miles of a stone out of these so let's see if I can run as far as a CT? And I will keep watching the CT performance that people get.

I would think it might make a difference on what type of material is used on the roads. Whether they are mostly concrete, stone, asphalt, pea gravel, some roads have ground up sea shell in them, etc. Weather might have something to do with it also. Just my thoughts.

I would say much the same. I think they use shark-tooth gravel around here.
