1/4 or quickturn throttle ring

Would like to try one on the Vaq.
Any one still making these still?
I know Racnray did one but not sure if it's a "mail in" job.
Preferably like to install myself :)
Cheers, Pete.

You could send Racnray a private message or an email. Click on "Contact Info" after the link opens.

Some guys had one and then got Ivans flash and removed the quick turn throttle.

Place an ad in the classifieds and you might get a used one from a forum member.

I've done my own quickturn throttle mod Pete, using a slice of pvc pipe and instructions available all over the internet. It was excellent on my 800, my Nomad, and then on my pre-Ivanized Voyager - but I've taken it off the Ivanized Voyager. It just made the jerky jerky throttle thing a bit harder to control. Taking all the slack out of the throttle cables helped, but I've found it's still better without it.

Ray sold these installed on grips, originally. Not sure how he sells them now. People remove the Racyn Rays throttle ring after the Flash. And have sold or gave them away. I was lucky to get one before my Flash. Made a big difference. But you have to remember Rays throttle ring was the only fix out there, till Ivans Flash came along. It is almost a 1/4 turn ring.... OK, more like a half or so. . That is why I still have mine installed even after the flash. I like the response. YMMV

May just have to go this way.
Had one on my previous 07 nomad from Dshelly..fantastic, wish I had of taken it off before selling.
I have almost eliminated the jeryness but the cable noticeably drags(slow to snap back) in the cable sleeve. To me this aint a good thing.
Not sure if the ring will do the trick but I'm willing to give it a shot
Cheers, Pete.

Take your throttle cables loose at the grip, get a small tube of the extra fine graphite, squirt a big ole gob into each cable, then a big ole squirt of 3in1 oil....into each cable.
Give it about 30 minutes, do it again....I also lubed up the sleeve inside where it goes over the handlebar, reassemble everything.
Adjust your throttle play, start twisting on the throttle for about 5 minutes, letting it get into the breaded cable and the cable jacket.
Should start snapping shut upon release really fast....
Then about every 3 years put about 3 to 4 drops of light oil into each cable, give it 30 minutes, do it again....never have to change your cables....well, maybe after 20-30 years....

I always give them a light oil once a year or so, but never thought about going the graphite( powder???) route....On the list
Cheers, Pete.

Cheers, Pete.
On my 74" bottom chest, right below my air tool rack on the side, I have a bottle rack; old Mustard squirt bottle from a old A&W Rootbeer place, with about 4 tubes of graphite in it and filled with 3in1 oil.
There is also a graphite grease/oil combo you can buy from the big mfg'ers, but that crap is super expensive, but its really good.
So I just make up my own....
