2005 vulcan 1600 classic, cracked headlight (plastic)

hey all,

just noticed about a 1" crack at the edge of my headlight, no clue when/how it happened.
know of any quick fix vs replacement? some kind of clear vulcan glue, or clear headlight tape- anything to halt the spread of the crack?

thanks all, wish everyone a wonderful thanksgiving next week!

Try a windshield repair company ? They might have a product that will work and do it for you ?
I have used superglue on a plastic side panel that broke off one of the push pins and it worked fine.

Drill a small pilot hole on each end of the crack as that will stop it from continuing to spread. Apply a bit of silicone, glue or tape to seal.

thanks for the suggestions redjay, and lumberjack.
lumberjack, if i drill the holes to help stop the crack from spreading, should i drill at the very end of the crack on both ends, or leave a bit of space, then drill?

thanks,

Is the headlight shell made from ABS? If so, from the inside, grind out the crack slightly with a Dremel or hand file (curved one), then use ABS cement for plumbing. Just don't open the crack fully to the outside so when the ABS cement melts into the ABS it won't bleed through and mess up the chrome plating.
