Semi-Homemade Accessaries Outlet (pics)

Added an accessaries outlet to my bike. I needed power to plug in my GPS or Charge my cell phone or Use the battery tender or whatever.
I have been looking for something that attaches to the handlebars. Formotion Products makes one but it's very pricey.
Anyway...Couldn't find what I wanted so came up with this.

Went to Academy to the boating dept...Got me a waterproof marine grade surface mounted outlet for $5.99......Then got a rigid scrap piece of metal and made me a mounting bracket using a hacksaw and file and black paint. Used automotive windshield washer hose to conceal the wires leading to the headlight bucket.
Ended up mounting it using a chrome acorn nut .... mounted it to the base of the RAM mount that I use for my IPod....One bolt.

Here it is......What do ya think....I'm pleased

I wish I knew you were looking for one of these, I would have suggested this: http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/...ode=86%2D44410

I mounted one of these on my bike a few weeks ago.

Looks like you did okay on your own, though.

I really can't tell what's going on there.

Here's a hint when taking photos: flash photography of a bike with lots of shiny chrome turns into nothing but reflections off the chrome. Anything else gets lost in the glare.

Try taking a photo under the natural sun (the best.) Or take it in the garage with just regular overhead lighting (as much as you can turn on but with no flash) and then lighten the photo up and fix the contrast in a photo editor.

Yeah man...Those pics are no good.
They were taken late at nite...in the garage...overhead lite...no flash....but a lousy camera.

Will retake photos when I get home from work in the natural sun.
For now ...Photos are deleated....

Wish I checked this thread earlier, I ended up velcroing one of those all weather jobbies to my windshield.
