**How To Insert A Picture Or Text In The Avatar Section**

1. Since Proboards will not allow you to upload any pictures for use as an avatar, please be advised that you must upload your picture that you want to use for an avatar onto another server that you can link to such as Photobucket, Flickr or some other server accessible to the web.

2. After logging into the KawaNOW Forum, click on PROFILE, which is located on the top menu bar of any page.

3. After clicking on PROFILE, click on MODIFY PROFILE, located right next to the words, "Member's Bio".

4. Scroll the page down to Avatar section on the left hand side of the page.

5. The first entry is for the Avatar URL. This is where you will input the link to your picture that you have uploaded to Photobucket or some other picture service.

The URL link is input just as the link implies. If your picture is on Photobucket, your link might be the following: http://www.photobucket.com/mypics/myavatarpic.jpg
Be sure to include the full path....use http:// and place the extension of the picture which can be a JPEG with the .jpg extention or a GIF file with a .gif extention.

6. Now, under Avatar Width, input the number 100. Do not input a larger size.

7. Under Avatar Height, input the number 100. Do not input a larger size.

8. Under Personal Text, you can input a small sentence of your choice.

9. Now scroll to the bottom of the page and click on MODIFY PROFILE to save everything.

10. Once saved, your picture will display above the Avatar URL entry field.

**How To Insert A Picture And Text In The Footer**

1. Since Proboards will not allow you to upload any pictures to be used as a footer, please be advised that you must upload your picture that you want to use for on the footer of your posts onto another server that you can link to such as Photobucket, Flickr, etc..

2. After logging into the KawaNOW Forum, click on PROFILE, which is located on the top menu bar of any page.

3. After clicking on PROFILE, click on MODIFY PROFILE, located right next to the words, "Member's Bio".

4. Scroll the page down to the Avatar section. Right below the Avatar section is an input field called, SIGNATURE. This where you will input text for your footer picture and related text.

5. The signature section can only hold a maximum of 400 characters.

6. The signature sections is free text, meaning you can type anything you want into the input field.

7. Now, in order to use pictures on your footer signature, they must be resized as to not overcome the page when viewed. It is suggested that you have your picture no larger than 350x350 pixels or smaller in size. Your pictures can be resized with any graphics program before uploading to your photo service or server of choice. One such graphic program comes with Windows called Paint. Paint is capable of resizing files and converting them to either .jpg or .gif files if needed.

Also, if you use any pictures in your posts, please resize them to 800 pixels wide or smaller.
Each footer picture can be 350x350 or less in size, with no more than two pictures situated horizontally. That way, your footer picture "farm" won't be any larger in width than 700 pixels. You can stack pictures on top of each other, not to exceed four pictures (two on top and two on bottom).

8. Now, you must input the code used for displaying your picture and text into the SIGNATURE input field. In inputting the code, you must use bracket coding for all your pictures. For example, if you want to place one picture and some text below it, here is the code you might input in the SIGNATURE section:

Daffy "Sappy" Duck
KawaNOW #99999, VROC #00001
Hollywood, California
2005 Kawasaki Nomad "SappyII"
daffyduck@kawanow.org
http://www.daffyduck.ws/kawasaki.htm

Notice that the URL or link for the picture has a bracket code in front and back. Make sure that the

9. Once finished, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on MODIFY PROFILE to save everything.

10. Once saved, your data should display at the footer of each of your posts.

Good Luck! ;)
