Sounds good BnG! The guys were supposed to meet in Anamosa between 10am -11am but I think it has changed to closer to 12pm. We can meet here in Ankeny since you have to go by here and we can go from there. We can meet at the Kum n Go on the 1st street exit off I-35. we can arrange the time as it gets near the rally time too.
I will PM you my cell.

Ankeny Meet Up.

Dave and Rasta, this is way cool for me.
I lived at 1210 SE Michael Dr in Ankeny for 10 years before I moved to the SE. Gave up on Iowa cause of the winters but otherwise great place to live!
I know where that K&G is. Only a couple blocks from where I used to live. Easy on and off to Intestate there. Let me know what time you guys want to meet and I will be there!

I'm really looking forward to the ride and seeing everyone again! Also looking forward to meeting new folks too! BnG
Dave,

Bluekaw, and I will be rolling-into Savanna at around 9 - 9:30AM. Bluekaw has to unload his bike from his trailer in Savanna so departure from Savanna around 10AM.

It is a 1 1/2 hour ride from Savanna to Anamosa, IA.

ETA to Anamosa should be around 11:30 to 12 noon.

I thought we might eat lunch at Anamossa upon arrival and then tour the museum for a couple hours before heading back to Savanna so we can get there in time to freshen-up before being at Poopy's at 6PM to meet everyone.

Hope that helps.

Just prior to the trip we'll exchange phone numbers to make sure we keep in contact.

Hey, things are shaping up for some fine days of riding. I know where the K&G is as I used to work in that area. Perfect!

According to MapQuest, it's about 2 1/2 hours from Ankeny to Anamosa. So if we fill tanks and meet up about 9am on June 7th, with a rest stop now and then, we'll get to Anamosa around 11:30.

Is it okay with you all if we head up to Marshalltown and take US30 east? I kinda like to stay away from interstates if I can help it. Waddayasay?

I'd like to leave in the morning..... if you know what I mean. BnG

Sounds good to me Dave! We had actually talked about going on US30 before too. Yeah that will be a more leisurely ride than on I-80. It is getting exciting!
trosco,if you are in Ankeny, day or days before the rally , let me know and we can meet.

Things are looking-up for the rally. Poopy's called me today to confirm reservations for 6PM on June 7th... and Old Man River confirmed reservations for our group on Sat evening for our finale dinner.

If our timing is good, the location for our lunch in Balltown, IA. will be a good place; as will be our lunch on Saturday in Mindora, WI. The place in Mindoro has 108 different burger choices, and 108 hot-dog choices. If you can't find something you like there, then bring a sack-lunch

Overall, the rally is going to involve a lot of riding time over the days of Friday and Saturday.

While the miles are not as much as some of us may ride in a single-day... it WILL take all-day to ride the routes, especially Saturday's route (270 miles).

There are enough curves in the route to keep our speed down some; causing it to take longer than one might expect.

We hope everyone enjoys the routes. We think there is something for everyone on them. Just hope road construction doesn't mess with us. If it does, there are plenty of "plan-B" routes...

In addition, we wished the hotel in PDC was set-up better for a gathering on Friday night. The hotel is fine, but doesn't have an outside area to sit around and chat. As it is, we will just have to make-do with what it is.

If there are any questions, just ask... Dave, Ray, or I can likely answer it.

Hey Greg, I was going to suggest Top Dawgs in Mindoro for lunch on Saturday but I see you already thought of it One thing nice about the Hotel in PDC is they have lots of rooms that have an outside entrance, such as the one I requested. That way we can use a room or two as a base for the partying

Sounds great Mike. I was hoping someone had an outside room to hang around by the door...

Top Dawgs... how did you know about that? Have you been there before? Mindoro will be just ahead of lunch-time, but I thought we would go ahead and eat there, because choices on the route begin to get few and far between after that...

I try to think of everything Mike!!! It's what you paid me to do!!

I have not been there but it is a well known spot with bikers riding in the area. You are right about not much after Mindoro on our planned route. With KSU @ 8:30 a.m. you may be correct that we will be a little early for lunch but that is o.k., we will appreciate dinner that much more I figured that you would have thought about lunch, as David Letterman says "There is no off position on the genius switch".
