We are already paying more than that prediction here. reg gas runs between 1.34 to $1.38 a liter in Montreal. 3.79 liters = 1 US gallon so that's $5.08- $5.23 Cnd for a US gallon of regular. No wonder we like to ride on your side of the border.

Price per litre sounds so much better...till you do the conversion to gallons.

Show off! But then again our beer is way cheaper than Ontario and the poutine is way better too.

Doesn't it though. And we regularly speed down the highways at 120 or 130.... though it's km / hr.

There are no oil refineries in AZ. Our gasoline is carried via pipeline from El Paso and Los Angeles. Back in 2003 the pipeline from El Paso ruptured, and had to be shut down. Gas became scarce and the prices went through the roof (not by today's standards). Gas was about $1.80 per gallon before the shortage, during the shortage it went to over $3.00 a gallon - which was unheard of in 2003. After the pipeline service was restored gas never went back down to $1.80 again. I don't think it ever went below $2.

If gas goes as high as they predict, I might have to buy a more fuel efficient vehicle than my 1991 Bronco. It will eat me alive at 11 mpg.

Yeah, that kind of speed in mph would get you thrown in the hoosegow around here.

Lowest price gas around here is around $3.21 per gallon. Got down to $2.99 but went back up a couple of days later.

I don't even know how much gas is around here. I know it's above 3 bucks/gallon but that's it. I baby my truck so I KNOW I can't get any better mileage. I fill it up (from about 1/2 tank) every 2 weeks. If it takes more, it takes more. It's not like I can do anything about it. Gas could be $400/gal and I'd still drive the way I do with the same miles. Probably wouldn't buy a different vehicle, either. My Blazer doesn't get great gas mileage but it's a solid, dependable truck and it does what I need it to do. I read some report that said if you buy a new vehicle that costs $20k and get 10mpg better, it will still take something like 8 years to break even. Can't see the point in all that.
