16 Degrees in North Alabama Updated 13 Degrees

Here it is 10:27 AM and the temp is now at 16 degrees. I know that isn't cold for a lot of you in the north but this is Alabama. Still having snow flurries and windy. If this is any indication of what is to come, it is going to be a rough winter here in north Alabama.

Well Gene, I am really sorry to hear about this but if this is what it takes to stay nice and warm here, by all means, let it stay cold there. ;)

Well today was nice with a low of 32 and a high of 59. Very nice temps. Yesterday was a little more chilly but still nice with a low of 16 and a high of 45.

Keep it up guys. Job well done.

Just remember that you can have all the fun when it hits January and February.

They may be able to try outdoor hockey in the south if they keep getting those temps. That would be a sight to watch.

Its called "temperature re-distribution" under the new plan the cold states have to re-distribute their cold during the winter and the warm states have to re-distribute their warmth during the summer..... thus we have a stable and fair playing field for all.

Ring, you probably dont wanna think about redneck hockey, as it would undoubtedly evolve to require ATVs and be played in camouflage uniforms after consuming alcohol in copious quantities.

Redneck hockey? LOL!!! That can lead to a lot of things we could discuss!!

This weather has been bad up north around the great lakes. We had blizzard conditions all weekend... winds at 50+ MPH with snow and blowing snow; and very low temps causing wind chills far below zero... sometimes near -20.

I can tell you... no one around here is riding a motorcycle; even if they wanted to... they wouldn't be able to keep it upright with the packed ice/snow covering the roads.

Nasty to say the least; and real early for these low temps.

On the other hand, snowmobiling is looking good.

Maybe that'll be another new hobby for the southerners!
