USPS Restricts Sending Tobacco to Soldiers

Amazing but true... I remember in the 60's you could go to war and die for your country but you counldnt vote.... sort of the same thing here.
You can get killed for us... but OMG you want to smoke????
They are not illegal, they pay the 500% sin tax to do it, they are dodging death for us.... but they cant smoke... Jesus what are we becoming?

When is this insanity of "I know whats best for you and I'm going to make you do it" going to end???

At least in the first gulf war we could smoke or chew if we wanted to but we had to bring our own or we had a family member send it to us ,now the gov nows whats best for thier fighting men and woman { so they think} and they don't leave them a say in the matter which I stongly disagree with , If you are old enuf to fight and die than you should be old enuf to smoke ,chew or drink what ever you want if the gov don't think you can make that call for thierselfs than they sould be to young to fight and die .

Yes I read in the local paper that the USPS is lifting the ban. That is a good thing.

Not to digress too much but I always thought it was dumb that if you're under 21 you could drink at the clubs on base but not off. I think as long as you're an active duty military, you should be able to drink off base.

Most of these kind of rules have nothing to do with "rational" they have only to do with "I know whats good for you". Which has been going on and growing for decades.

We seem to have a whole lot of "Prudes" that have gained office and control and now they are going to impose their own set of values into law. If they cant slide them in under the constitution they will slide them in under the "disguise" created super power called the EPA.

Just about anything and everything can somehow be considered an EPA problem.... why do you think they have been using it and not the constitution or the peoples vote?

The compromise for Prohibition to get some people on board was to not allow anyone under 21 to drink.

Somehow things like smoking and drinking started becoming a privilege and a sin controlled by the same people against it and they are charging and budgeting around the taxes they attach to the privilege they are banning.... what friggin idiots.
Lets raise the taxes... and then lets ban it.... and oh yeah, lets budget on all the smokers since we have statistics to "know" how much we made last year.
I'll say it again... what friggin idiots.

When they wont allow a bar to be smoking because it isn’t fair to the bar that doesn’t allow smoking cause they draw more patrons and it just isn’t fair, so equal the playing field by not allowing smoking anywhere.

Personally, I take this as an insult to the people who can read and know that a sign saying “this is a smoking establishment” means people can smoke in here and those that have a brain and can still think and rationalize between whether they want to risk going in or not….

They wont allow drinking or smoking in a strip joint…..But the same people who profess the concern is the basis for their ban’s and try to ban it everywhere for the “health” reasons will themselves put a clause in the same law to allow smoking and drinking in casinos in the same states and cities that are so against it.

Like I said and there isnt enough time or space to cover the "clauses" that have come about for no other reason than power, greed and compromise motivated from greed to gain power.

Thats MHO of course but I could be wrong.
