Vaquero alarm
Because I am trying to save myself some money I bought a alarm and decided to install it myself because I know a guy who used to do them. I seem to have the basic alarm installed but this alarm came with a remote start option. This is not a high-dollar unit So the instructions seem to be very vague. Does anybody have any idea where to connect the remote starter wires on the 2011 Vaquero. I have the system turning the bike over butt is not starting. Does not seem like the fuel pump is kicking in with the alarm but starts fine with the bike.

OK I'll ask for those of us who want to know.
Why would you want to remotely start a bike? To turn the air conditioner or heater on?

Honestly, I've never tried to start mine without the clutch in. Will they start with it out?

How did I know that was the response I would get?.....lol.. It was a feature that came with the alarm and I warm up every motor I have before I put it to work. So I figured why not.

My Vaq starts in neutral only but you also have to pull the clutch lever in.

I would never leave my bike in neutral parked. Maybe strapped down on a trailer but not parked.

Mine doesn't need the clutch if it is in neutral. I have found info on instalations on other bikes but nothing specific on the Vaquero.

The way it's wired, it probably thinks you're trying to hot-wire it. I seem to recall reading something about a resistor somewhere in the line - which is solely designed to detect if anything other than the key is being used to start the bike.
... Or my memory might be misleading me.

Almost 90ยบ here yesterday. If it's any indication of the summer to come, I won't have to worry about starting it to warm up, I'm gonna have to make sure the fan doesn't come on while it's parked.

What keeps someone from riding off on it when it's remote started and its idleing and your not around.

Sandraptor. Yep, you should have seen some of these responses coming but don't worry about it. it's your bike do with it what you want. A friend has a Viper remote start on his F6B and uses it during cold weather just to have the oil warmed up a little. he had it installed though and seems to like it

Yup bo1966. I don't think I would use the remote start every time I start the bike and certainly wouldn't start it when the bike is around the block. But there's been many times when I start the bike to warm it up and I need to get into the bags which you need the key for... LOL. Thanks for the input
