Handlebar Raisers on eBay - anyone used these?

Has anyone had any experience with these raisers?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS....51351923 548694

I like the look and the price is good.

Don't know... but they are sharp looking.

You'll either have to drill out the triple tree for the bolts to go through, or get the adapters that fit. They do look sharp.

how big are the top bar clamp bolts? They don't look very beefy for wrenchin the bars down. I think my phat II's gotta be at least a 3/8" bolt if I can recall. those things look like little 1/4 20's or something. maybe it's just the picture decieving me.

Adapters??? I assume this is due to the stock TT bolt hole is smaller than .5.

Any info on where to get an adapter if needed? Or other than not being able to re-use the stock risers is there any issue with drilling out the TT to fit?

The part spec says the Bottom Thread Mount is .5 X 13. I checked my service manual and it does not list the riser bolt size, however the stock risers are mounted with just a bolt and lock nut. It looks like these will mount the same only the bolt will come from the bottom of the TT.

Anyone know what the stock riser mount bolt size is?

borto1990, that was one of my concerns also.

Went for a ride last night and my neck is still hurting. I have to get my bars pulled back and up but just can't pull the trigger on the $130 Areomach risers. Found these same risers on another eBay auction for $39.99. I'm sure they are off shore cheapo parts and you do get what you pay for. Hoping someone on the list has tried these and can provide some in-site.

We just helped take a set of these risers off a 1600. Unless they are making for the 1600 Nomad DO NOT put them on. The risers are sharp looking but cannot be tightened down properly because of the size of the bolt heads. Both risers hit the nacelle quite badly and really limit turning to the point where they are dangerous. Stick to the risers made for Nomads.

I know the Aeromach are pricey but they are excellent quality, you know they fit and are gorgeous to look at. They also were a perfect fit for me.

Have you looked at Chucksters risers? They are a cheap, but good alternative. http://www.chucksterscustoms.com/Pho...spx?param=CCKR

+1 on Chucksters, I have a set of his 3" risers and they really make riding much more comfortable!

The thing that concerns me about the ones shown on E-Bay is that the stock bolts are 10mm which is smaller than the bolts used on his risers by more than a couple mm. I don't remember how much clearance there was when I installed mine but I doubt it was enough to take a half inch (12.7mm dia.) bolt without drilling for more clearance!

+1 for chucksters from all I have seen here!

Thanks to all for the advice and recomendations.

I've read enough to not buy the risers I was asking about.

I'll PM chuckster for more info.

If I remember correctly, it's metric, but very close to 3/8".

Get a set from Joe (Chuckster) Norris.

You WON'T be sorry.

Everything I've ever received from Joe has been top quality and gotten to me quickly. Everything he sells will work, guaranteed.

And oh yeah, he rides a Nomad, so he has a test bed.
