Hi Kris,

That'll be your 3rd set of Cobras, right? I also have Cobras, currently at 6000 miles, how long do they last for you.

Thanks,

E.
I put over 12,000 on both sets....this last one had 12,300. They had quite a bit of tread left but were pretty well cupped. Great tires though! New ones always feel sooooo nice!

That's how much I got out of the bricks [was over due though] I might be able to squeeze a couple 1000 miles more out of the Cobras, I hope.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I'll probably be out of town on business for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully we still have some sort of a bike season left towards the middle and end of September.

John, good to know. Can we expect high 20Ks from the Cobras? Your sig photo is awesome.

Thks Elvis..I hope to get lots on these. The stock stones were awful. Front got 24k and rear was 14k. I replaced the rear with a metz and thru it away after only 10k...hated it! Went to the radials and it was weird at first because I only had 34/36 psi, they seemed to move around a lot. I heard rumour to put 41/43 psi..perfect. They will take some time to get use to because they are twichy until your comfort matches with them. I've never had them slide out and only have 1/2" chicken strips...John

As you all know the weather has been less then admirable, here in Alberta, but I managed to put 9300+ km on the Nad. It's been great getting back on a bike after 15 years away from riding.
I am hoping for an extended Fall riding season.

Cobra's are radials? And the the Bridgestones are ......? I might have to look at the Cobra's next time. All I've ever had are the stock tires. I have to admit I'm thinking C.T. for the rear though. I think this winter I'll be doing the rear tire. Is it advisable to do frt. and rear when you go to radials?? I imagine so. And John? 41 ---frt? and 43----rear? or 41-43 in both?

Ricky,
You would love the Cobras. I just put on my third set of them! They are radials for sure and I run 46 in the rear and 42 in the front. I used to run 50 in the rear...but it was just too stiff of a ride! They really track and hold well... !

Sounds good Kris. I've been reading and posting in a thread about "thinking about the darkside" and I'm not sure I'm ready to go there or not. There sure a lot of guys swearing on the C.T..

On another note
I dropped Duffy a PM but haven't heard back from him, about the Sat. ride. I'm hoping, as the rain comes down hard here at the cabin, that the weather clears up. If it's raining, I won't be coming. Right now though,..... I'll be going.

Cool....it's supposed to clear up for the weekend, so we should be GTG. I know Duffy plans to meet you/us at the HMSP in Rockport. In case you aren't sure where that is....when you get to Rockport, turn right on 530 toward Darrington. Just before you cross the bridge over the river, the park will be on your right. Looking like a great group! If everyone shows...I think we're up to nine Nomads, one Voyager and one non-Vulcan... !

Have you heard from Duffy? "I know Duffy plans to meet you/us at the HMSP in Rockport." I'm waiting to hear if he wants to meet in Sedro Wooly junction #9/#20 and ride up together. I just checked and he hasn't opened the PM I sent.

So getting back to the original post here, it's now Sept. 13th and the weather has definitely taken a turn for the worse, here on the "wet coast" of BC.. At least for now. I expect to still have some sunny days where the weather temp is tolerable without having to have elec. vest/shirt/jacket and gloves, but it's for sure turned to fall.
What's it been like where all you "Western Canada Nomad Riders" are? I expect it won't be long when we'll get a posting from northern Alta. that snow has fallen. {even for a day and doesn't stay.} In another month the bike will be in the garage for the "winter" and I'll be starting to do some timely maintenance. I don't really have anything else I want to add to the bike oddly enough. Well except maybe the "hogtunes" tweeters to the fairing and sound syst.. ...... MAYBE !!
and I have been thinking of having some of the same HD "pearl gray" colour of the trunk and fairing "brought into" the rest of the bike. A little air brushing on the frt. fender and the saddle bag doors maybe. How about you??

It's friggin cold / rainin & just plain ugly. There has been no real summer here in Alberta! Haven't put any miles on - plus all of my Holiday's were cancelled so I have had 3 official days off this year with none in site! So since it has sucked so bad I really didn't miss much! I don't know anyone who really got to ride much this year - only if they got out of Western Canada early then didn't come back! I know a couple of people who went down east and sweated to death - they came back here to find everyone in parka's and furnace's on! Oh well - there's always next year!
