No head lights, help!

I have no head light on my 2008 Nomad. Both low and high beams are not working nor are my driving lamps.
Signal lights still work, tail light and brake still work.
What do I do?
Thanks

First thing is to check your fuse. It sounds like you have a few things on that circuit. If thats the problem, Id rewire the driving lamps with a re;lay on a seperate circuit.
Have you made any changes on the bike lately?

Use a flashlight.

It would be highly unusual for both the high and low beam to blow. I would start by checking fuses. Then check the wiring to the headlight. It is possible that both low and high beam blew but very unlikely unless there was some type of power surge.

something happened, the 10amp fuse was blown, there was also a burn hole in the side of the blown fuse.
Do I have a problem?
Thanks

You shouldn't have the headlight and driving lamps on the same circuit. They are drawing to much current. When you blow the fuse as you did, you lose all your lights. Rewire the driving lamps onto a seperate circuit and this should fix the problem.
Then you will still have the other lamps if one of the fuses blows, but most likely it never will.

Uh....yeah! Get those driving lights on their own circuit and use a relay to trigger them.

The driving lamps, they are wired to the low beam, they have been this way since day one,..........the bike is a 2008.
Why now?

You've just been lucky. Like Ring and CJ said, a separate circuit and a relay to switch them is a must.

I don't care if they worked until now, they are wired incorrectly, in my opinion. This time, it was a $.59 fuse, next time it could be your ignition switch that blows.

Wires get hot when they are on circuit close to max capacity. If your battery is a bit weak they draw even more current. Thats probably what caused the fuse to blow.

re-wire or fry the fuse box and the ignition switch. The oassing lamps are probably 55 watts each, nearly 10 amps. Tioy are close to 15 amps. Neither the fuse box and ot the ign switch can deal with that 'load'.

You may 'trip' the relay from low beams.

With a std relay T-30 goes to the battery. T-87 goes to the load. T-86 goes to the 'trip'.
T-85 goes to ground.

OR with a 30 amp switch you can run passing lamps thru a in line fuse from the battery, and have lights any time...
