Oil Dipstick- '14 Nomad

I'm confused. With respect to oil changes, there is a picture and description of the High and Low oil level marks in the manual. They are clearly at the end of the dipstick, in the smooth part. They are not the upper and lower ends of the hash marks, which would make sense, as opposed to the quarter inch or so end of the stick. If the correct marks are at the ends of the stick then I've been way overfilling my oil. Watching a Partzilla video on changing the oil, the mechanic points to the correct oil level as about midway between upper and lower marks. Comments?

I have always kept mine half way between the upper and lower marks.

I guess it's just a poor illustration of the dipstick markings.

I also keep mine in the middle of the upper and lower marks. Works fine.

I have been changing my oil and filter every 6000 miles. Drain the oil. Pretty much 5 qts come out and put 5 qts back in. The only time I look at the dip stick is when I'm putting it back in after the oil/filter change. There are no leaks and it doesn't smoke. I don't under the fixation on hash marks and all the seemly stress over it. It's been working for me for the last 80,000 miles. Just saying.....
