Exhaust Mod

2014 Nomad- Anybody tried just drilling some holes in the rear baffle for a little more sound? I don't want to debaffle the whole pipes and prices for aftermarket exhausts are ridiculous.

I did but didn't find anything on drilling just the rear baffle, the one at the outlet.

Yes, there are three baffle tubes in each muffler. I drilled out #1 and #3 in each and it still sounded like a lawn mower and ran hot. A cold air intake, aftermarket pipes, and Ivan reflash are pretty much requirements that come with owning a VN1700 platform, Kawasaki tied up and gagged the engine to such an extreme degree. It's no wonder the VN1700s always belly flop in comparison tests, I sure wish they'd test one that has been taken off its leash.

I can always tell when someone drilled holes in the baffle. It just doesn't have a good sound.

Okay, doesn't sound like something I should do.

Has anyone ever installed the Vance and Hines dual bagger exhaust on an ‘04 Nomad 1500? Is it a must to flash the ECU on fuel injected or can they just be installed and ridden with no issues?

No ECU flash available for the 1500/1600's and no aftermarket fuel processor needed for 1500/1600's if you are just changing the exhaust.
