Cam chain question

Do the 1700s need cam chain tension extenders like the 1500/1600s do?
Just curious.

1700’s don’t have chain tensioners.

The 1700's definitely do have cam chain tensioners. 1 cam chain tensioner is under the right side engine cover the other one is under the left side engine cover. If I'm not mistaken they both were at Mid travel, I had over a hundred and fifteen thousand miles on my Vaquero with no cam chain noise.
