Lowered Nad

I've altertered my heighth by tire size. 150 80HR 16 Front raises it .47". 180 60HR 16 Rear lowers it by .27". When the shocks wear I'll go a little lower.

I if just need more inseam the Mustang seat will lower the seat height about 1 1/2 inch and the Corbin about 2 inches. You can use the shocks off of the Classic and drop the bike a full inch but will loose some ground clearance. I have been looking a these options closely as Liz is considering trading her 04 1500 Nomad for a new one. She rides mine but it still felt a little tall for her with the Mustang seat.

Hey Watchman -- I've been holding off buying a seat because I thought the Mustang seat put you in the same position? Some guys have said they go forward a bit. I'd really like to get the seating position down and back a bit.

You have one on your Nad and it's that much lower?

HI I have a 04 Nomad I'm 5'8 I would like to lower mine1or2"in the rear an need my feet more on the ground. If I put air in my shocks that makes it to high so I run 0 air in them. I seen on here somewhere none air shocks from a H D will work is that right? there is a place were I can get used parts in town that sells H D parts at my $$$ price CHEAP! An I seen some one put a FAT BOY FENDER on front of there Nomad I like the look.

At 5'9", the stock set up works ok for me (especially if I behave and wear boots).

Maybe your Nomad's are higher than my '03, but at 5'4" I have no problem putting both feet flat on the ground with or without my boots. And to top off my ass being to low to the ground, I'm a "tad" overweight, and that makes it harder to get both feet on the ground but I have no problem.

To me the Mustang seat feel like it moves you forward. The Mustang makes you feel lower because it is narrower that the stock seat making it easier to touch the ground. The Corbin feels lower and moves you back.

OK, I'm going to chunk 2 cents in from a guy who just raised his Nomad back to stock. The PO had lowered my '02 Nomad about 3 inches. The feel was great at the red light, but other than that it was not a good thing IMO. The shocks he used to lower it were progressives but had no air assist. The ride and control with the stock shocks is muuuuccchhhhh better. Now I have to find some replacement baffle screws for my V&H baggers.
