GPS ADVICE

I use a Ram Mount for my Nuvi and it works great. Both the power outlet and the GPS are on the left side.

GPS ADVICE

Another tid-bit:

I have the Garmin 260w and bought the Ram mount. I decided to go with the clutch/brake reservoir mount here: http://products.ram-mount.com/rammou...r=RAM-B-309-1U

If you go through the wizard on RAM's website, these are not compatible with our Nomads. The ball on the top is too close to the mirror arm and won't fit. I ended up cutting off the bottom piece of the above mount and turning it right about 30 degrees to make it work. It has worked very well over the last few months.

I have mine mounted on the clutch. Great for when you're rolling along and need to find gas/food/lodging without having to lean forward.

I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a Marine-grade 12v socket and wired it into the headlight bucket. The socket has a spring-loaded cap that keeps out moisture. I have it mounted next to the left riser with a couple of zip-ties. Good clean install.

The arm and cradle were those spec'd for the GPS.

I don't notice any vibration at all! When I have the GPS mounted I use it instead of the speedometer because it's easier to see and more accurate.
