2000 nomad 1500 needs help

Hello everyone. I have a 2000 nomad 1500. I was riding the other day after an oil change and the bike began to lurch ( lunge) then I lost all gears. (Wouldn't move) runs strong still. Oil is black after 40 miles. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

Kind of sounds like a drive problem..............I would start by pulling the rear wheel and checking the drive (ring gear and pinion, drive shaft and the front drive gear.....+ the u joints along the way). Good luck.

Oil is black after 40 miles ? How many oil changes have you done on the bike ? What type of oil did you put in the bike ?
Is it at the correct level ?

Sounds like your clutch is not working properly maybe ?
Possibly due to incorrect oil ?

Did you use the same oil and filter you have always used ?

He's a newb, He'll learn.

Look at the oil bottle and tell us what you put in.

Look at the circle on the back.

Now what is printed in the bottom half?

If it has friction modifiers, then your clutch could have 0 friction now.
