Lost my best friend last night

Just wanted to let everyone know I lost my best friend last night. He had 11 good years and I will sure miss him. He was a good dog and probably was my best friend. I remember being online and in a Shetland Sheepdog group and this lady was telling me all about the training her dog had had, you know obedience and all that stuff. I told her my dog was my friend and he didn't have to do any of that. He was my friend and he could just be a dog. Needless to say our conversation was over at that point. Anyway, just wanted you to know and hopefully his picture from a few years back will let you see him.

I'm sorry for your loss. We have an elderly dog too, and are dreading that day.

Thanks CJ, I finally managed to get Bingo's picture up. I had had him since he was like eight weeks old. Best $250 investment I ever made.

It's sad. They bring such joy and then such sadness when they depart. The best thing is to find another companion, not a replacement, for those lost can never be replaced, but a new one with whom you can share your life and share the joy in their life.

I'm sorry for your loss Gene. I know how tough it is. The longer you have them, the tougher it is to lose them. Time will heal the wounds but it does take longer than you want it to. Take care.

Sorry to hear this. I have said goodbye to a few four legged Friends over the years and so I feel your loss. They truly are best Friends.

What a gentle kind looking dog Gene! 11 years of spoiling him rotten I bet!! God put him with you for good reason! He picked a deserving owner and friend of his animals! Job well done!!!

Sorry for your loss, Gene. We lost our 10 year old lab around the end of 2008, so I feel your pain.
Time heals, but you'll always remember.

Dogs r definitely man's best friend. You can be mean to a dog and they'll still love you. Had dogs all my life and dreading the thought of losing mine in the not so distant future as she's 13 and showing signs of age.
