Yes Chris, back when they were new it was fun but we didn't know the comforts and convenience of today's motorcycles. Now I will stay with modern bikes

The first motorcycle (moped) I ever rode was my grandfathers 1966 50cc Raleigh Runabout. I was 16. I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.
Anything that got me where I wanted to go without pedalling was fantastic.

Having said that you had to pedal it to get the engine fired up !

Thanks TC, they are going to be in the Grand Canyon and Williams Thursday. Nice temperatures around 70 degrees, beats the heat down here in the valley. Gives me a good excuse to go for a ride. It will be different to see the older machines outside of a museum.

Decided against going to Williams on Thursday there was too much rain, instead Kingman on Friday was nice and sunny. The Cannonball riders were a hardy bunch after coming close to 3,000 miles from New Jersey. The majority of the bikes cruised around 30 mph. Judging from some of the conversations the older bikes are not for the amateur mechanic. Overall it was an interesting and fun day.
