Ride to National Rally

Slow day at work today and was thinking about where members of the NCR could meet for the ride into Eureka Springs. I'm thinking we could meet in Hannibal, MO just like we did for the combined NC/SC Rally last June. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I thought you said Hannibal would be out of your way...

In looking a few weeks ago, there isn't much to the west of there unless you make it a much longer ride; which wouldn't be a big deal for me, but you are coming from a lot further.

Well, Hannibal is out of my way but it will be a 2 day ride no matter what route I take and as you said there isn't much to the west of there that would be a comfortable days ride.
It seems like most of the people that have made reservations from the North Central are in IL or IN or IA which makes Hannibal a good choice.

I am fine with Hannibal. The only other would be Columbia, MO. There are few hotels there to consider.

Who all is coming down with the group?

Ray for sure and I am pretty sure Mike and Gale from Wisconsin and I think Tim. I am not sure about any others at this time.

Okay.

Maybe we should consider pushing further W/SW the fisrt day to help get us there a bit sooner the next day. Is there a spot where your ride is about the same distance as to Hannibal?

I suppose we should also consider our Wisconsin friends' distance as well. Hannibal is not a long ride for me or Stretch.

Gibby's house to Jefferson City, MO = 525 miles
Mike and Gale's house to Jefferson City, MO = 545 miles
Greg and Kendra's house to Jefferson City, MO = 400 miles
Tim's house to Jefferson City, MO = 300 miles
Ray's house to Jefferson City, MO = 400 miles

Jefferson City, MO to Eureka Springs, AR = 225 miles

Personally, 525 miles the first day is enough for me.

Staying in or near Jefferson City, MO the first night puts us about 100 miles closer to Eureka Springs, AR for the second days ride.

I hope to get there on Sunday. One day ride for me and I am sure the same for Tim. Plans could change like they did this year and still meet up with you guys for the night and then ride the rest of the way together.

I was looking for the same also. I do not have the map up at the moment, but one of the hotels had a couple nearby -- just cannot remember which one.

I don't need to stay at the best place; but at the same time, I would also prefer not to stay at a crack-house... because I don't plan on bringing my bunny slippers...
