JTD Cycle Parts - Hard Lowers - KawaNow Discount

How are you guys painting these?

I was thinking of just hitting them with some Krylon paint out of the can with clear
Also did you prime them first?

I use ColorRite primer, color and clear to match my bike. I painted them AFTER I completed the fit up on the bike. Didn't want to mess them up after they were painted! http://www.colorrite.com/

I've had min on the bike for the last 5 months. They are great, but tend to hold in the heat in the summer.
Got them painted and they look great!!!

JTD Cycle Parts - Hard Lowers - KawaNow Discount

Just did a 200 mile run with mine on in 95 deg, 56% humidity. I even had my leather chaps on. Didn't get hot from bike heat at all. Of course most of the run was on 65mph and 70mph improved highways. If you were doing a lot of 30mph in town the experience might be different.

I even bought a set to put on my son's Yamaha v star 1100 classic. Had to modify them to get them to fit (had to cut about 3" off the bottom) but they seem to work fine on it as well.

Now to try them out in the rain sometime (might be this fall based on the way the summer weather looks!).

Good product. Glad I went with them. Thanks John.

Thanks for the updated slide show (on the JTD site). I can see them MUCH better now and I like them alot better than I did at first. I have a couple questions.

Can any of the gloveboxes/speaker mounts be added later?

Are the vents standard?

Is the edge trim standard?

Waving I've been AWOL

Been AWOL for awhile working on new stuff and selling a bunch to riders around the US and in 8 other countries. Made some great lower for the Victory riders and now working on another new series of lowers for the cruisers.

hope to find time to actually get in some rides this year, 2012 I hardly left my shop. I read about Estes Park and were there several time vacationing and would love to get back there on bike this time. I am going to do my best to get there!

Hope everyone is well..

Madtime, Yes to all of the questions above. I mounted a set on mine 2001 last year. I just updated with a set of 5 1/4" speaker boxes. I love mine.

I have a set of used ones, in perfect condition, just changing the look of the nomad. This was on a 2008 nomad.
Anybody interested let me know.
Cheers
