04 Nomad 1500 fairing

New to this forum purchased an 04 1500 Nomad. Looking to purchase a Fairing but seems many to choose from. Wondering who can show me pics. And give advice on which one s fit and look the best? Thanks!

Well, The are alot of different fairings, quadzilla, most expensive at well over $1000, then theres the memphis blues batwing, which is $299, but the mounting brackets are sold seperately.
Then theres the Batwing from the USA Trailer Store thats about $265 with included brackets w/2 windshields, a clear one, and a dark tinted one.
Theres alot more to choose from....
I've used the one from the USA Trailer store....
All the other guys will be along shortly to give the in and outs of their own fairings that they are running....

Mine is a Reckless fairing that I bought from a member on here for my 04 already color matched.

I had a Reckless on my 03 and loved it. Working on an 01 now and I think I might go USA. Either way you go, you will love the added wind protection, music, storage, style, etc. That's what I love about these bikes; you can set them up so many different ways and it never gets stale. Good luck. The fun begins.

Oh I forgot , on my 200 Nomad I have the Premux fairing that I got from another friend. That one is very well made but out of Canada.

They're all pretty much the same, as far as size and shape.

If you're any good with prep and paint, then do like I did.

I bought one of the least expensive I could find in ebay.

It's fiberglass, so it's easy to prep for painting.

You can't tell the difference with a line of them parked next to each other, you have to ask which is which.

Reckless will sell you a nice almost ready to paint fairing, or you can buy a less expensive one and put some sweat equity into it.

The Memphis Shades is just an outer shell, no provisions to mount any equipment.

I have the reckless with 6x9s myself. Put it together myself to save a few bucks and all in all it came out great. If you want a perfect product your looking at a over a grand but the reckless does the job around 500ish (stereo head unit, good speakers, antennae, and odds and ends). The Memphis shades is just a shell, i had one on my vn900. It does provide a better look (opinion) and pushes more air around you than the stock windscreen, but thats it.

The Premeux fairing is EXPENSIVE. Like $2000 expensive. I've only seen 2 used Premeux fairings on the market. Best of luck finding one of those. Excellent quality and, assuming you have a stock paint color, they'll factory match it. Like MAS said, spend 1/4 of that and do the finish work yourself.
