Chat for KawaNOW

Nico emailed me the other day wanting to know if a chat room could be set up. Several have asked in the past about it also.

Well, I checked into it off of the Proboard services and it appears that one won't work for our purposes unless I shell out about 150 bucks! The free version isn't really worth using.

Anyone have any ideas on a good area to set up a chat room for KawaNOW that is secure and free?

TIA,
Trip

Yeah, I've thought of that too, Nico. I'm not so sure I want you guys to take your "sillyness" to a chat. People that frequent the KawaNOW forum are getting used to your antics.

I'm sure they're are a few that find it annoying, but for the most part, I think we all enjoy a little humor in our reading. I'd like to see all the discussion stay right here. I think that's one reason why KawaNOW has grown so much over the months.

What's everybody's thinking on this?

It's fine by me as is.
I have posted messages after and during 'sparring matches' between others and it doesn't bother me.
This is who we are! join in on the hay-ride called KawaNow.....
I even told my dealer about this site and all the sales staff too. They liked it a lot and will pass on the info.

It's easier to refer back to past discussions with the set up like it is. I have visited a forum with both options available. The chat module was busy at first but faded off as people were posting messaging more than logging into chat. There is always AIM or ICQ. Folks can post their user names and use that mode of IM if desired. Just a thought.

I don't see the need for a Chat room Trip. One suggestion though. Go to http://www.volusiariders.com/index.p...7269c966959706 and look at the list of topic folders. (that is where I cut my teeth in the MC world) Something like that would make it easier to find what you are looking for.
HELP for those who are in desperate need. (Nico) an
OIL topic (Nico could be the moderator and we would not have to put with him anyplace else except give him access to help)
FOR SALE OR TRADE I think you have that one
INJECTORS and PIPES for those of us wrestling with all the technical issues surrounding that topic (BlownDodge would be happy there)
BIKER DOWN to keep us up to date on who crashed. (Oh yeah, Nico needs that one too)
Not complaining, just suggesting a little more organization with more folders.

Can you imagine Nico lost in an Oil folder? UGLY
