I thinking of crossing over to the darkside help

I am thinking of buying a new car, what should I buy? Sorry, but it is the same type of question. Do your research, there are plenty of threads on here that you can start with, just do a search for darkside.

To answer your question, I have the Dunlop SP5000 195/60 16 and it works very well for me. I have a 99 1500. It is very popular tire, but most certainly not the only one out there. I spent months researching what tire I would go with. a friendly suggestion that you do nothing less.

I think that you may also find that no one on here will recommend you even switch over to the dark side, yet equally, you won't find a member that would switch back.

I also have turned to the Dark Side.
The SP 5000 was my choice also for my 99 Nomad.
It will be in tomorrow and I might just start mounting it tomorrow... if I have the time.

I'm thinking about riding the Blue Ridge Parkway again this cumming weekend and it would be nice to break in the C T that way.

it is likely i will repeat this so many times everyone remembers it by heart and will state "Mac I plan to service the swing arm at the same time the tire gets mounted to the wheel!" Just to shut me UP!

This service is called for at 7,000 miles and again later, but you really want to do this when you go with a CT, because you won't be back in there again for a very long time.

Lubing all the splines is important, checking that U joint is life and death important, and besides the swing arm seals are shot with just 12,000 miles after being new.

You need a CT of your choice, 2 head pipe to head gaskets because these are a crush gasket, and pretty nuch the exhaust must come off to get the long pivot bolt at the swing arm.

You need 2 swing arm seals, greases and a cotter pin. I use a good cv joint molly grease for everything but the swing arm long bolt, spacers, and bearings, where i prefer a stiff marine quailty bearing chassi grease.

It takes up space. I grease the bolt tube, the spacers inside, outside and on the ends, as well as the bearings and the bolt.

This stiffer grease will reduce side to side slop in the swing arm.

When I see... "Mac I plan to service the swing arm at the same time the tire gets mounted to the wheel!" I will shut up about this.. it is just that a bad U joint in a tube can bind, and that can kill.
