I haven't found the left shock difficult to get to whilst on the side stand - aside from having to remove the 10mm headed bolts from the seat. (Thanks Kawasaki!! NOT!).
As for a PITA balancing left and right, I have no problemo with a lossless air pump. In fact, I've noticed a full stroke of the pump = 2 pounds of air. Nonetheless, this mod is one I have on my wish/to-do list.

I purchased a fox air pump on Amazon for 24.00 that is awesome. No loss of air and it keeps both on even scale. Love this idea though.

IDIOT ALERT. I should have gone here first. I can get all the bits local for about £12=$16 http://www.vulcangadgets.com/files/air_shock_gauge.html
