As anyone that knows me will attest to, I will and can ride a 1000 miles a day, that is not my objection. I stand by my preference that the Rally be in our Region.

I can appreciate that. That's why my first choice was Northern Missouri and on the border of our Region. Let's keep brainstorming.
Quincy, IL is right across the river from Hannibal, then we can still call it our Regional Territory.

Maybe we can lobby hard for a National Rally in Southern MO

Hey Ray, hope we are still on for the Antlers Rally. We will have to figure out a good place to meet up for the ride down.

Jay... Pay no attention to Gibby. He was always the whiner. Always complaining about wanting to take breaks from riding!

Seriously though... Most expressed the same concern about keeping the rally within the region, thus we never considered anything else (despite the fact Missouri has fantastic roads to ride).

I would still put my vote on the Black Hills as the place to go. It is IN our region, and few would complain about the riding or sights. I could always go back there.

Now you are talking Big Willy! The Black Hills rock.
And yes, nothing I like more than taking breaks and doing as little riding as possible

Keep voting for the Black Hills

This year is the first year in quite some time that I have not been to the Black Hills, although there is still plenty of good riding left. A fall run over there may be in order.
I would vote for the Black Hills anytime, as long as it is not during the Sturgis Rally.

I vote Missouri. Jay is close to that area and can do the planning better. It seems we have been going north for the last few rides.

it is not uncommon for two regions to combine thier rallies both to expand riding oppurtunities and increase attendance.perhaps you might think about that possability.

Personally, I have no problem with Missouri myself. I loved the roads southwest of St. Louis by about 3-hours. Most that ride on them would agree -- as Jay said. There's not much as far as any "city-life" in that area; but still a knock-out area for riding -- which I assume is the whole purpose.

It is further for some having perfect attendance to the rallies and rides to get to though.

In addition; when I mentioned it previously, Trip made a comment about it being out of our region... so I took that as a suggestion to keep it in the region. Don't know for certain... best check with the "boss".

Again, the problem is that our region has few great riding areas to choose from.

The Black Hills is the best in our region, for certain -- but no doubt a long-way to go for most. I am sure attendance would be high if it were there. You likely would have others from other regions as well, given the BH's are a destination for bikers.

You have over a year to make the plans though; but I think a "scouting-ride" to Missouri is in order sometime next season just to "make-sure" it is still good!

Here's some talk in SCR about a mini-rally in that part of MO (elephant rock area). We can crash their gig

Greg, I think that a scouting-ride to southern MO. is in order even if MO. is not the choice for the NCR Rally. You may be able to twist my arm to join the scouting party to see if the roads are as good as I remember

Whether we crash the mini-rally or not... For certain we at least need to put a posse together for a Missouri scouting ride!

Like I mentioned, the roads near Elephant Rock / Johnson Shut-in's are really fun roads to ride. Most certainly anyone joining the posse would enjoy it.

This is just shooting from the hip but we could do the scouting trip on the way to the National Rally in Co. All we would have to do is leave a few days earlier than necessary.
