Thanks guys....actually, I created this board and posted these trip links in hopes of inspiring others to plan and take trips this year on their bikes.

It really doesn't really matter how well the trip report is done, just that you take the trip and make a small write-up with a pic or two.

Hopefully the links will give some members a idea or two.

Yeah, Trip, It gives LOTS of ideas.
We have a few little ones planned and will take photos. I want to do the day ride in Rider Mag a few issues ago in North Florida.
I would like to put the stills together with a little video with a audio clip over the whole thing like your vids. How do you do it? What type of video cam? Mostly anykind? The audio doesn't matter as it can be overdubbed. Is it just a Powerpoint type video? ( Im not too computer smart as you just figured out!)
I am trying to put all your trip vids on one CD so my friends can watch. They are inspired by the places you have been. It reinforces we are not on the earth to work, but to enjoy its beauty.
You are VERY lucky you have riding partners who enjoy the ride as well. I know it can be the best or the worst, depending how everyone gets along.
Keep em coming as I am going to try a few this spring.

Sounds great, rflnomad.

I realize that people buy motorcycles for different reasons, but for me, riding a motorcycle is not only for local runs, but for trips to see the USA.

It sounds like you're on your way to planning a good trip. I use several things to chronicle a trip. First, make sure you have a good digital camera with a good megapixel rating for the stills and that can also shoot video. You don't have to have a video camera for the video, but on some trips, I've taken mine. But, most of my trips, I just take my Fuji S602Z digital camera.

After I get back, I use the Adobe Premiere Elements video editing program to plan and put together my videos. This program let's you blend video (and wild sound), stills and any music. It affords you up to three video channels and three audio channels for editing.

Once you have your presentation finished, it allows you to save it in many video formats, mpg, wmv, mov, etc.

Being involved in photography and videography for many years, I can tell you that after the trips have come and gone, the video and stills are all you'll have to remember them by.

Trip

Trip, You have made some really interesting trips and a great job of documenting them.
Most of my trips have been jump on my bike and see were I end up. Not very many pictures
but I do have some, when I get time I'll try to post them.I have to say you inspired me to try and keep a camera handy. Thanks Trip and thanks for this site.

Trip,

Enjoyed the Utah write-up. I'm planning the trip this summer and your info is great. Like the idea of staying in one spot for several nights. Thanks for the info. Buck

Trip's trips and videos have inspired me to purchase a camera to mount on Lucille.
I've ordered the Oregon Scientific camera (link below) and according to UPS it should arrive Monday. I've seen the fine helmet-mounted footage shot by Mark "Monkerz" Ginsel on the Texas VROC MIBB ride, and some footage captured by a buddy who mounted a fire dept camera on his handlebars on our way to College Station for a company fire school. I'm looking forward to trying mine out, and will have it in ES for the Central Rally rides.
Hopefully I will be past the "bear cub in boxing gloves" stage by then.

http://firevideo.net/store/index.php...index&cPath=65

I found a couple places via google search that advertised this camera cheaper, but they didnt have any in stock, nor did they offer the Fire Helmet mount as part of their package. Target.com shows the camera on their site with a $99.99 price tag, but had a "2-6 week delivery" Couldnt take the chance that it wouldnt arrive in time.
