Best of the NW Canada/US ride in July

Unfortunatly not going to be able to do the Redwoods. I'd really like to but most of our vac time is going to be with our kids, taking them to grand canyon and area. Cranbrook is only a 4 hourish ride from here. Im trying to convice Rox as we speak lol.

This ride is only about nine weeks away.....so if you are thinking about tagging along, or meeting us somewhere along the route, check the timeline and destinations in the OP and begin formulating your plan.

My plan is to enjoy as much of the Canadian & Montana Rockies as possible, then ride through the spectacular Idaho wilderness before heading back into Washington with a big Sh*t-Eating grin on my face.... !

I know Lomax is in....Ballast is in (I think anyways)....and Canuckrider is in for part if not all the ride. Others who have indicated they may meet us along the way for part of the ride are Rickyboy, Delivery58, Drno, GregO, Wandering Nomad "Darksider"....and Schoeney. If I forgot anyone, or you would like to be added to the list....chime right in.

I will need to keep a pretty detailed itinerary so we don't forget to meet anyone along the way who wishes to do so. The best way would be to meet us at any one of the listed locations on the evening we arrive, but we can certainly make plans to meet somewhere mid-day as well. I know Delivery58 plans to meet us in Bonners Ferry, ID, etc.

Anyways....put on your big-boy pants and join us for a great week of riding through some of the most spectacular scenery in all of North America. If you think you can make the whole ride, I suggest you make your room reservations now!

Charlie.."Ballast"... you had previously mentioned about booking reservations / split some room expenses? Let me know if you've done anything on that end of things (if you're still able to get time off to go). My green light is still on for... GO.

From your right sig pick Vinnie, it looks like you could pack enough stuff to ride to the moon and back! Or is that trailer just for the "refreshments"... ??

Hey, that's a great idea... lets take the trailer on our trip, put a keg in it with a tap out the back! You'll all follow me anywhere! (unfortunately we may end up in Mexico with some little senoritas on the back of our Nomads ..... and that might be a little difficult to explain as for call home....please send money for bail).

I am a go and have to do some more reservations. I will get the rooms and would be happy to split the costs.

Thats a bummer, but hey, there are always other rides. I've been reading more about the Icefields Parkway from Jasper to Banff. It is hailed as one of the 20 top drives/rides of a lifetime! I'm so looking forward to it and crossing my fingers for good weather when we make that run.

This ride is only four weeks out now and I'm really getting stoked! I've been looking forward to it for such a long winter that it still hasn't sank in how close we are to actually heading out. Should be some great riding through some gorgeous country. Hope you guys (you know who you are) are as excited as I am!

Hey Kris
What is the ride plan from Hamilton to McCall? I am trying to decide if I am going home from Hamilton or from McCall. Need some days at home before heading back to work on the 11th.

From Hamilton....

South on 93
West on 75 @ Challis, ID
West on 21 @ Stanley, ID
West on Banks-Lowman Rd. @ Lowman, ID
North on 55 to McCall, ID

Whatever works for you....but I would opt for McCall....the stretch of 93 from Hamilton to Challis alone is worth the extra ride....and the run through to McCall has to be just as gorgeous.... ;). Plus, I think Schoeney and his brother are going to try and meet us in Hamilton and ride to Enterpise with us if he can get away. Leaving from Hamilton would be like cutting off your nose to spite your face....but at least you could run Lolo Pass if you did...not a bad consolation... .
